ABSTRACT

Objective To discuss the clinical value of bidirectional quantitative detection of MSCT in the diagnosis of diabetic lung injury. Methods From May 2016 to July 2017,120 patients with diabetes in Wenzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected as diabetic group, and 50 healthy people were selected as control group. The two groups received the pulmonary function test ( PFT) and the MSCT bidirectional quantitative detection, the test results of the two groups were analyzed. And the correlation of indicators of MSCT bidirectional detection and PFT detection indicators was analyzed. Results After examination, the maximum inspiratory lung volume (Vin),maximum expiratory volume (Vex),respiratory volume (EVvin,EVvex)-emphysema,EIvin (%),EIvex (%) in the diabetic group were (3 627.64 ±867.43)mL,(3 785.34 ±835.64)mL,(476.95 ±326.25)mL,(236.53 ±86.18)mL,(9.26 ±4.85)%,(4.11 ±2.58)%,respectively,which were significantly lower than those in the control group (t=11.151,13.809,21.317,21.623,24.76,26.708,all P<0.05).The Vin,Vex,EVvin,EVvex,EIvin(%),EIvex(%) in the patients with ≤5 years of diabetes were (3 627.64 ±867.43)mL,(3 785.34 ± 835.64)mL,(326.25 ±56.95) mL,(236.53 ±86.18) mL,(9.26 ±4.85)%,(4.11 ±2.58)%,respectively,which were significantly higher than those in the patients with >5-10 years of diabetes mellitus (t=129.09,36.01,21.03,12.38,22.17,19.48,all P<0.05).Conclusion MSCT bidirectional quantitative detection is of great signif-icance for patients with diabetes lung injury, and plays a significant role in clinical treatment.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine in treating active rheumatoid arthritis (aRA).Methods A prospective randomized controlled study was carried out. Totally 148 aRA patients were divided into the control group and the treatment group, 74 cases in each group. Control group was treated with MTX (methotrexate) and LEF (leflunomide), while the treatment group took traditional Chinese medicine based on syndrome differentiation, on the basis of treatment with MTX and LEF. The therapeutic course for all was 3 months. Efficacy indexes, like clinical symptoms and signs, ESR, TCM syndrome integrals, DAS 28 score, and safety indexes were observed. Results This study finally completed 136 cases, including 69 cases in the treatment group and 67 cases in the control group. In the two groups, significant improvement of clinical signs and symptoms, ESR, DAS28, and TCM syndrome integrals after treatment were shown, with statistical significance (P0.05). The significant efficiency of the treatment group was 11.59% (8/69), and the control group was 5.97% (4/67), with statistical significance (P<0.05). Adverse reactions occurred fewer in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.01).Conclusion Compared with single traditional Chinese medicine, integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine for treating aRA can better improve DAS28 and TCM syndrome integrals, and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions.

ABSTRACT

4-Hydroxybutyric acid (4HB) is a psychotropic drug used for polymer synthesis such as poly (4-hydroxybutyric acid) (P4HB) and poly (3-hydroxybutyric acid-co-4-hydroxybutyric acid) (P3HB-co-4HB). 1,4-butanediol (BD) can be converted to 4-hydroxybutyric acid by alcohol dehydrogenase (DhaT) and aldehyde dehydrogenase (AldD). In this study, high efficiency promoters including T7 promoter and P(Re) promoter were cloned to increase expression of dhaT and aldD, and thus accelerate the conversion from BD to 4HB. A. hydrophila 4AK4 (pZQ01), the recombinant strain under the control of T7 promoter, produced 6.00 g/L 4HB from 10 g/L BD with the productivity increased by 43.20%. While A. hydrophila 4AK4 (pZQ04), the strain under the control of T7 promoter, produced 4.87 g/L 4HB from 10 g/L BD, and the productivity was increased by 16.23%. Thus, the gene expression was increased by T7 and P(Re) promoters, leading to an accelerated biosynthesis of 4HB.

ABSTRACT

Objective To assess the correlation between FFPN22 C1858T polymorphism and rheumatoid arthritis(RA)in Han people in Xiamen area by TaqMan-MGB real-time PCR.Methods A casecontrol study was carried out in Xiamen Han population.Their blood samples(100 RAs and 100 controls respectively)were collected and the PTPN22 C1858T polymnrphism was tested by TaqMan-MGB real-time PCR.Results①A technique of TaqMan-MGB teal-time PCR was established to investigate PTPN22 C1858T polymorphism;② Onlv 1858 C allele was presented in all the RAs and controls, and no T allele was detected. Conclusion There is no PTPN22 1858T allele in Han people in Xiamen area.It is suggested that there's no association between PTPN22 C1858T polymorphism and RA.

ABSTRACT

To explore the effect of coculturing actinomycetes with Bacillus subtilis on the production of bioactive secondary metabolites, we studied the difference between fermentation products of monocultures and the corresponding cocultures of 22 actinomycetes by antimicrobial assay and HPLC-PDA analysis. We selected Streptomyces strain FXJ2.014 with high bioactivity for further analysis and found additional metabolites in fermentation extracts of cocultures of strains FXJ2.014, FXJ1.296 and AS 4.1252 respectively with B. subtilis. Quinomycin A was the main bioactive metabolite produced by the monoculture of strain FXJ2.014, while a new quinomycin-like component named FXJ2.014-HB was produced when strain FXJ2.014 was cocultured with B. subtilis. Further tests of antimicrobial and antitumor activities indicated that FXJ2.014-HB and Quinomycin A had significant differences in terms of bioactivity. Moreover, the inhibitory activity of FXJ2.014-HB to a variety of tumor cell lines was weaker than the highly toxic Quinomycin A, indicating its potential to be an antibiotic with low cell toxicity. In conclusion, coculture can be used as a promising approach to discover bioactive secondary metabolites from actinomycetes.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To study the effect of Chinese herbal medicine 1023 Recipe in blocking cancer transformation of experimental oral precancerous lesion and its mechanism. METHODS: We treated the experimental oral precancerous lesion in hamster's cheek pouch using 1023 Recipe (consisting of Radix Astragali, Gynostemma Pentaphyllum, Rhizoma Chuanxiong and selenium-rich green tea) for 6 weeks, and observed its effect in blocking cancer transformation, detected 2 kinds of agglutinin receptors (receptors of wheat germ agglutinin and Ricinus communis agglutinin) in the mucosa of the hamster's cheek pouch. RESULTS: The rate of cancer transformation in 1023 Recipe treated group was lower than that in the control group without treatment (P<0.05). Agglutinin receptors in the two groups were different significantly. CONCLUSION: 1023 Recipe is effective in treating hyperplasia, and can prevent its cancer transformation. The mechanism may be that 1023 Recipe can induce precancerous lesions to differentiate into normal tissues.
